Train To Become a Ski or Snowboard Instructor with Us.
If you’ve been a skier or snowboarder for quite some time, why not come and train with us towards your Level 1 or above Ski or Snowboard instructing qualifications, and even better, have an opportunity to interview for a role on our team!
Your Ability
You’ll be an advanced skier or rider, confident in all mountain terrain and conditions. Our Snowsports crew are an important part of our mountain team, delivering unforgettable experiences every day for our guests.
Opportunity to Join Our Team
After our Rookie Instructor Training Programme, you will be prepared to take your Level 1 NZSIA Ski or SBINZ Snowboard certification exam and be guided to the most appropriate exam date to focus on.
On successful completion* of the Rookie Instructor Training Programme in either Queenstown or Canterbury, you will be offered the opportunity to interview for a full-time or part-time seasonal position with one of our Queenstown or Mt Hutt Snowsports Schools as an Instructor.

*Please note that successful completion means performing to the expected level required for a Rookie/Level 1 instructor

Rookie Instructor Training - Domestic
$2,249Kickstart your career in snowsports with the NZSki Rookie Instructor Training Programme - a 12-day intensive programme including onboarding, designed to transform skiers and riders passionate about being in the snow into skilled instructors. Delivered by some of the best in class NZSIA and SBINZ trainers and examiners, this course combines on-snow coaching with indoor technical sessions to ensure you’re prepared to deliver the best guest lesson experiences possible, with confidence. For those successful on completion of the programme, this becomes one of the only direct pathways to a seasonal position on the Queenstown Snowsports team based at Coronet Peak and The Remarkables.

The NZSki International Rookie Instructor Training Programme is your chance to train with world-class coaches and potentially land a seasonal instructor role at Coronet Peak or The Remarkables. This 12-day intensive course is led by top-level NZSIA and SBINZ trainers and examiners and blends expert on-snow coaching with indoor technical workshops to equip you with the skills, confidence, and professionalism to teach and inspire on the mountain.

WHAKATIPU HIGH SCHOOL ROOKIE INSTRUCTOR PROGRAMME
$1,049Exclusively for Whakatipu High School students, this intensive 6-day training programme is your launchpad into the world of Snowsports instruction. Get on-snow coaching, build professional skills, and prepare to join our Snowsports team during the July school holidays. Afterward, you’ll have the option to sit the NZSIA or SBINZ Level 1 Instructor Exams (exam fees not included).

Delivered by NZSki’s Performance Academy, these high-impact training blocks are led by globally respected coaches — the same professionals who mentor the best in the business.
