Instructor Training Programme

Train To Become a Ski or Snowboard Instructor with Us In 2022!

If you’ve been a skier or snowboarder for quite some time, why not come and train with us towards your Level 1 Ski or Snowboard instructing qualifications, and even better, have an opportunity to interview for a role on our team!

 

The Programme

This programme is designed for New Zealand or Australian residents; however, we will consider those already in NZ who hold working holiday visas. 

You’ll receive a 3 Peak Season Pass free of charge when you book into this programme before 30 April 2022.

 

Your Ability

You’ll be an advanced skier or rider, confident in all mountain terrain and conditions. Our Snowsports crew are an important part of our mountain team, delivering unforgettable experiences every day for our guests.

 

Opportunity to Join Our Team

After our 10-day Rookie Instructor Training Programme, you will be prepared to take your Level 1 NZSIA Ski or SBINZ Snowboard certification exam and be guided to the most appropriate exam date to focus on.
On successful completion* of the 10-day Rookie Instructor Training Programme in either Queenstown or Canterbury, you will be offered the opportunity to interview for a full-time or part-time seasonal position with one of our Queenstown or Mt Hutt Snowsports Schools as an Instructor.

*Please note that successful completion means performing to the expected level required for a Rookie/Level 1 instructor

 

Please note that the two programme options (Coronet Peak and The Remarkables in Queenstown, or Mt Hutt in Canterbury) are the same, please apply to just one location, either Queenstown or Canterbury.


Queenstown Programme

Our Queenstown Instructor Training Programmes operate at Coronet Peak and The Remarkables ski areas. Over the 10 days of our 2022 Rookie Instructor programme, you’ll train under the expert guidance of highly experienced examiners across both Queenstown mountains. You’ll experience all the terrain and environments needed to prepare confidently for taking your Level 1 NZSIA or SBINZ exam before or after the July School holidays. Designed for highly competent, advanced skiers and riders, you’ll gain professional insights and experience that will help you step up into becoming a professional snowsports instructor.

Canterbury Programme

Our Canterbury Instructor Training Programme operates at Mt Hutt ski area. Over the 10 days of our 2022 Rookie Instructor programme, you’ll train under the expert guidance of highly experienced examiners based at Mt Hutt. You’ll experience all the terrain and environments needed to prepare confidently for taking your Level 1 NZSIA or SBINZ exam. Designed for highly competent, advanced skiers and riders, you’ll gain professional insights and experience that will help you step up into becoming a professional snowsports instructor.
