Snow Conditions
Machine Groomed
Due to low visibility in the Sugar Bowl terrain parks, we have postponed the Tararua Diary Company Slopestyle event to next Sunday, 6th of September. Warm overnight temperatures and a freezing level over 2,000m means our snow is soft this morning. The skiing and riding will be good with the spring snow conditions.
Weather Conditions
1.3°
We currently have an overcast mild morning with little wind. The forecast is for the cloud cover to hang around with the possibility of a few showers. Wind is light to moderate from the North.
Road Conditions
Open
The road is clear this morning. Be aware that there will be a grader working on the gravel section of the road today. Please drive with care and maintain two-way access on the road at all times.

Please check in with Patrol staff on snow stability when considering access beyond the gates. Please observe all closed gates and roped areas and do not venture past them. Patrol will update this daily or as conditions change.

BACK COUNTRY ADVISORY

If you decide to go skiing or snowboarding in the back country, you need to carry the right safety equipment. Avalanches happen for a reason, so it’s important to choose your terrain wisely.

It is good practice to alert our Ski Patrol with details of your anticipated back country trip. You can pop into our Ski Patrol office at any time. Please be aware that our Ski Patrol do not patrol these areas and only venture here in the case of a known emergency.

For up to date avalanche information please refer to the NZ Avalanche Centre's latest update.

Please visit the Mountain Safety website for details on requirements to ensure your safe back country adventure.
