Students Ride Free Day Queenstown
On Saturday June 24th, six of the South Island’s ski resorts will be giving tertiary students with a current New Zealand student ID, the opportunity to ski or snowboard at their resort FREE of charge, at the inaugural Students Ride Free Day.
Removing the barrier of buying a lift pass, the hope is to get students up to ski resorts that wouldn’t have otherwise gone up there, and ignite their passion for the mountains and ultimately increase participation in snow sports. This fantastic initiative is set to become an annual occurrence, creating a winter date that students from all over New Zealand can put in their calendar and get excited about.
How do tertiary students register? There is an online registration form that eligible students can fill out if they would like to ski for free. The main item is choosing which mountain you would like to visit and it takes about 2 minutes to complete. Registration will be on a first-in-first-served basis. Register today.
Registration is open from Thursday June 1st until Friday June 23rd 6pm (South Island) and until Friday June 30th 6pm (North Island).
Eligibility: New Zealand Tertiary Students with current student ID.
Number restrictions: Mount Hutt and Porters (500), Coronet Peak and The Remarkables (750), Cardrona and Treble Cone (unlimited) and Mount Ruapehu (Whakapapa 1000) (Turoa 1000)
Offering: Free day lift pass (10am-4pm) to eligible students.
