Snow Conditions
Machine Groomed
The quality of our trails moved up another notch overnight following a light dusting of new snow, a tactical snowmaking campaign and prime grooming conditions. Take care on firm patches of snow that might begin to develop on exposed areas as the wind picks up today. Off trail remains crusty and is recommended for experts only. Snowmaking will be operating at various locations around the mountain today.
Weather Conditions
-7.5°
At 12:30pm we have mostly clear skiers, light winds in the base area and 60-70km/h winds at the summit. A mostly fine, sunny day is forecast with winds increasing a tad further. Chance of some low cloud bubbling up from time to time with occasional snow flurries. Gusts of up to 80km/h are possible at the top of the mountain and may affect lift operations. With temps expected to stay well below zero, you'll need to wear plenty of layers to stay warm up here today.
Road Conditions
Chains on 2WD
Chains required on 2WD from the Info Booth. All other vehicles must carry their own chains given the chance of snow in today's forecast. Our chain hire and fitting service will be operating but you'll need to bring your own chains if your vehicle has low-profile tyres. Drive to the conditions today - the thin layer of new snow on the road will reduce your traction.

BACKCOUNTRY REPORT

LATEST UPDATE

Please refer to the Canterbury back country report at http://www.avalanche.net.nz/

Any terrain closures will be indicated on the day on signage around the ski area. Please be respectful of all closures as these are in place for your safety. If you are not sure please ask one of our Ski Patrollers who are stationed around the unload areas of our lifts.

Our lifts access certain terrain that suits different ability levels - to be sure you have the right lift pass to access the type of lift and terrain for your skiing/riding ability, please ask our Guest Services staff if you need assistance.

When riding a lift always ensure the safety bar is lowered on your chair. If you are unsure about the lift, just ask the nearest Lift Operator to slow it down for you. All lifts operate between 9am-4pm daily, weather & snow conditions permitting.
