Our Positions

Our patrol team are highly trained professionals who keep our mountains safe. They check the trails every morning and throughout the day, carrying out explosive work and avalanche control when they need to. They're also qualified in first aid and will help anyone on mountain who might need it. Patrollers require qualifications in Pre-Hospital Emergency Care & Avalanche Stage 1.

If you love the mountains, are an advanced skier or snowboarder, and enjoy helping people then maybe a position with our snowsports team is for you! We offer a range of coaching options for our guests ranging from first time lessons to high performance camps for elite athletes. In 2021 we are running our Rookie Instructor Programme which gives you the opportunity to earn while you learn! Find out more below.

Slopes crew

The slopes crew are responsible for keeping our trails in good shape, grooming them and building terrain parks. This team consists of a variety of roles including snowmaking technicians, groomer drivers and terrain park builders. They are generally on mountain long after guests have gone home and stay late into the night prepping the slopes for the next day.

Our transport team are responsible for operating our ski buses from the centre of Queenstown to The Remarkables and Coronet Peak, and our carpark shuttles on all three mountains. The Transport Department is one of the larger departments in NZSki and in a normal year we employ around 80 staff including drivers, team leaders, administration and various other support staff.
