Women's Ski Sessions

Want to improve your ski technique, meet new people and have fun whilst gaining new skills? Sign up for our new Women's Ski Sessions, 2 days of specialist ski coaching just for women (intermediate level & above) with our experienced instructors.

You will receive video analysis & feedback in a fun and relaxed learning environment, breakfast at Coronet Peak on the morning of your first session and an invitation to an evening at Outside Sports with an equipment overview, free binding & boot adjustments and discounts on skis and boots.

6 Saturdays Technical Training Programme

Ski and Snowboard Instructor level training of the highest quality. Take a quantum leap ahead of the rest and have fun doing it! Ideal NZSIA Level 1 and pre Level 2 instructor exam training. Trainers draw on a wealth of knowledge to challenge and inspire you to peak performance. 5 hours & 30 minutes of intensive tuition per day for 6 Saturdays.

Rookie Instructor Try-Out Clinic

- Coronet Peak

The selection clinic for the ultimate Rookie programme (apprenticeship) is a day of skill improvement and an opportunity to start an apprenticeship teaching skiing or snowboarding. This programme is for non-qualified ski or snowboard New Zealanders and Australians and legal New Zealand residents.

This one day Rookie try-out programme of skills improvement is an opportunity to start an apprenticeship and undertake ski/ snowboard instructor level training of the highest quality. The basis of the training will
be on-snow clinics, shadowing workshops and video analysis support. Rookies are expected to take the NZSIA Level 1 and NZSIA Level 2 courses at their own expense and early registration for exams is not
just recommended but a necessity. Rookies must be at least 17 years of age in August 2009 for the NZSIA Level 2 course.

Following the on-snow training, successful participants will be advised of selection.

Masters Race Clinic (30+) with QAST

Never run gates before? Come and give it a go! This clinic provides weekly ski improvement and race training with small groups and QAST's most experienced coaches. Enjoy the excitement of racing and ongoing progress in a sociable spirit. Designed for the 20 + year old racers who want to excel their skills through gates and improve general racing ability. This clinic is ideal preparation for Masters Races, which are enjoying phenomenal success all over the ski world.

Terms and Conditions Relating to Coaching or Instructing at Coronet Peak Ski Area

Regardless of whether there is a fee involved or not, a person cannot:

  1. Coach, instruct or demonstrate any snow sport activity (including but not limited to skiing & snowboard) to another person or persons within the licensed area of Coronet Peak Ski Area. Approval is at the discretion of Ski Area Management.
  2. Take video footage for instruction or coaching purposes within the licenced area of Coronet Peak Ski Area.

Exceptions are made if you are teaching direct family members and you are a not a qualified instructor (e.g. father and son).
