The Fastest Masters

After a big week of training, the Landrover Mt Hutt Masters were up at the crack of dawn on Friday morning, ready for a big day of Super G and Slalom racing.

There was tough competition this year with the addition of Masters Coach Andrew Wilson, who has been a great help in upping the game for the Masters season.

Women’s Super G winners: Kate Rattray (1st), Ruth Hall (2nd) and Sue Unger (3rd).

Men’s Super G winners: Jonathon Eaton (1st), Tim Rudkin (2nd) and Roland Kuhn (3rd).

Women’s Slalom winners: Kate Rattray (1st), Marion Rolleston (2nd) and Sue Unger (3rd).

Men’s Slalom winners: Tim Rudkin (1st), Mason Gray (2nd) and Jeremy Young (3rd).

Methven Resort was hosted Friday and Saturday evening prize giving, cocktails, dinner and rugby and also included the viewing of some special film footage from the 1960s Squaw Valley Olympics, which was very entertaining!

Unfortunately, Giant Slalom was not able to run on Saturday due to severe winds over the weekend however, the Race Department are looking at running this event in mid August (TBC). Please email events@mthutt.co.nz for more information on this postponement date, or any information about Mt Hutt Masters.

Mt Hutt would also like to give a special thanks to Michael Bushell and Lynne Womersley for their fantastic efforts during this event.
