"It's very hard to summarise my entire 2009 winter experience in just a few lines. It will definitely be one of those "ahh, remember that winter in Queenstown..." or "this one season when I skied at Coronet Peak..." which will be synonymous with the majority of my stories henceforth!"
This wouldn't have been possible without the help, guidance and tuition from the guys and gals at QITP. From their understanding nature for applicants travelling from far flung places such as Ireland (where the biggest mountain is three crates of Jameson whiskey stacked high) to their continual support and sense of fun throughout an enduring season. Joining the QITP course was a decision I didn'st regret for a second, and I thoroughly enjoyed my time with the team and the other trainee instructors.
The best summer I ever had was a cold winter in Queenstown!"
I've recently completed the 8 week Queenstown Instructor Training Programme, and was successful at obtaining my level 2 ski certification. I feel I need to thank you and the Coronet Training team, especially Robynne, Jimbo and Toby for their efforts during the season. These trainers were extremely helpful, both on and off the hill, and completely professional for the entire course, they made the course thoroughly enjoyable. The quality of the training, the content of the course and the calibre of the trainers that taught us over the duration of the course was absolutely inspiring. To be able to spend 8 weeks being trained by the best skiers and trainers in the country and who are obviously well respected around the world was an amazing opportunity for all the people in our group. To spend 6 hours a day working on our own skiing technique and also learning how to teach the skills of skiing, was truly an awesome and valuable experience."
"The Instructor Training Programme at Coronet Peak was an awesome experience for me. I made friends from all over the world and had amazing fun as well. The trainers helped me improve my snowboarding to a level where I was able to pass SBINZ CSI and Stage 1. I enjoyed every minute of the programme and as a result I've been able to work as an instructor in Europe and the USA."
The past three seasons I have returned to Queenstown and worked at Coronet Peak, the first two seasons as an instructor and this past season as a Snowboard Coordinator for the Snowsports School. I was also able to pass SBINZ Stage 2 exam with the help of the in-house training provided by NZSki at Coronet Peak.
I would highly recommend the Queenstown Instructor training programme to anyone wanting to get into the snowsports industry."
