Mountain

The dry Nor'west snow we received yesterday has freshened things up very nicely and the groomers have expertly blended the new snow into our firmer spring base to create a seamless sliding surface. First tracks is on today. There's some nice pockets of wind blown powder off-trail but you'll need to keep your wits about you to navigate the numerous rock hazards. We strongly recommend the use of helmets at Mt Hutt.

Weather

This morning we have crystal clear skies and light winds. The forecast suggests you'll need to get up early to enjoy the best of today's weather. Starting off fine and sunny, with cloud and snow flurries developing from around noon ahead of a Southerly front that is due just after we close this afternoon. Expect moderate winds on the ridgeline easing as the day draws on and light winds in the base area.

Access Road

With snow in the afternoon forecast, chains must be carried today. Adhere to the 40km/h speed limit. Please report any incidences of dangerous driving or excessive speed to our car parking team so we may follow up with the driver.

Don't Forget...

Get up early and enjoy acres of fresh cord and an empty mountain from 8am to 9am with a First Tracks upgrade on your mypass. You can purchase your First Tracks upgrade from Guest Services on the mountain or on-line at nzski.com. $20 for Adults and $10 for Child/Youth/Senior. Drop into our Retail shop on the mountain and check out the great range of helmets we have in stock and our 20% sale on selected models.
