We recruit to a cultural fit. For us this means having a customer centric background, experience of demonstrating leadership without title and being focused on the delivery of personal, team and company goals. As part of the 2012 winter you will join NZSki and receive a company induction training experience as well as departmental and role specific training and ongoing seasonal support. We have an expectation that you’ll be highly motivated to do well in your first season and will show signs of becoming a future leader at Coronet Peak, Mt Hutt or The Remarkables.

In the first year you will need to complete a National Certificate in Tourism with Strands in Snowsports in order to demonstrate competency within your role. The certificate is the first step of your snowsports career with NZSki. Longer term you will be offered the opportunity to obtain departmental and leadership qualifications.

For those really outstanding staff who can create a track record of high performance over the course of four seasons, we offer a Recognition of Prior Learning opportunity for a Bachelor of Applied Management.

We take our training and development very seriously. We offer performance incentives in SnowStar and the NZSki Leadership Experience which can be used to progress your career in the snowsports industry.

Additionally NZSki Limited is committed to providing a safe and healthy workplace for all employees. We recognise that the use of drugs and alcohol, even if consumed outside the workplace, can lead to employee impairment while at work. Poor concentration, carelessness, risk-taking behaviour and errors in judgement can occur. Drug and alcohol abuse not only affects work performance, but also results in higher rates of injuries, fatalities and absenteeism as well as reduced productivity. With this in mind, NZSki reserves the right to require a drug and/or alcohol test (blood, breath and/or urine) at any time. This includes post-incident testing, reasonable cause testing and random testing of employees.
