Rookie Driver Scheme
Click here to return to the Employment home page.
Want to gain a professional qualification? Want to work in a vibrant industry? Want to get great winter sports benefits, plus a competitive pay rate?
YES? … Then get on the bus!
The Rookie Bus Driver initiative was set up to help highly motivated New Zealander's gain professional licenses while working as part of NZSki’s vibrant transport team in Queenstown.
Successful candidates will come away with specialized winter driving experience and training from experienced winter driving trainers. Candidates will also achieve professional passenger endorsement and heavy goods (class 2) licenses, and all this training and assessment will be paid for by NZSki Ltd.
We need organized self assured people that can work as part of a vibrant team. Candidates should have great guest service skills and be physically active, as some of the work will be physically demanding. Candidates should be enthusiastic about the snow sports industry and willing to go the extra mile for our guests and staff every hour of every day.
HOW TO APPLY
Applications close for the Rookie initiative on the Monday 13th April 2009. This is earlier than general recruitment. Rookie applications close early because of the necessary pre-requisites that must be completed prior to professional training which starts on the 15th of June 2009.
Although NZSki Ltd will be incurring the bulk of the training and assessment costs, there are pre-requisites that must be completed prior to commencing the licensing process.
Successful candidates should be prepared to put them selves through:
1. New Zealand Fair and Proper person check (Police character check)
2. Medical (for transport)
3. Class 2 Learners (theory test only)
Professional driver training at Coronet Peak & The Remarkables will commence in June 2009.
To be considered for this scheme, please complete the application form under Queenstown Jobs for ‘Rookie Bus Driver’.
All information, including up to date costs and study material (for the theory test) can be gained by contacting your local AA licensing center.
